Timbuktu is situated at 14434 Highway 3A on the East Shore of Kootenay Lake. Nelson is a short distance from Balfour where a free 35-minute Ferry takes you across onto the East Shore. Follow Highway 3A south along Kootenay Lake for approximately 20 minutes. If traveling North on Highway 3A we are 1 hour away from the town of Creston.
